100th Anniversary of  Closure of German Internment Camp, Trial Bay ; Sculpture in the Gaol : 5th August – 1st September 2018  

   

Calling for expressions of interest for the annual Sculpture in the Gaol Exhibition at Trial Bay.

Following the success of the Sculpture in the Gaol exhibition over the past ten years, Trial Bay Gaol will once again be transformed into a dramatic artistic landscape with sculptures displayed throughout the Gaol site. South West Rocks Chamber of Commerce and NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service wish to invite you to participate in the 2018 Sculpture in the Gaol Exhibition, along with celebrating the closure of the Trial Bay German Internment Camp.

 

This year there are 2 major prize categories as well as runners up and a random sculpture draw winner. There is no entry fee to exhibit and sculptures may be priced for sale.


Category B
: Small metal, timber and/or mixed media sculptures.Category A: Large metal and/or timber sculptures and/or                                             

Theme: 100th anniversary of closure of German Internment Camp at Trial Bay.  Theme is not mandatory.

 

Schools Section                                                      

All school students in the Macleay area are encouraged to enter the Schools Sculpture in the Gaol Exhibition and/or the Schools Photographic/Art Exhibition. Entries for the schools Photographic/Art Exhibition must relate to the Macleay area with the theme “100 year anniversary of Germans and soldiers leaving Trial Bay Gaol”.

 

There is over $3000 worth of prizes to be won in the Sculpture in the Gaol Exhibition.

 

This year’s sculpture winners will again be chosen by popular vote of the viewers and announced at the closing of the sculpture exhibition at the Seabreeze Beach Hotel, South West Rocks at 1.00pm on Saturday, 1st September 2018.

 

Escapee Trail

You may also be interested in displaying your sculptures, artworks or photographs in one of the South West Rocks businesses as part of the Escapee Trail. All Escapee Trail works must be priced for sale.
